Three New Names in the Irish Top 20
Most of the Irish top 20 remained the same as the previous week, with the exception of three new names in positions 17 through 19.
Kamal “AceOfShamrocks” Singh is one of those new names, although Singh has featured in the Irish top 20 before. Singh’s $13,140 score for finishing fourth in a $200,000 guaranteed POWERFEST event helped push him to 17th in Ireland.
A brand-new name in the Irish top 20 is that of Shaun “silage89” Conroy who has enjoyed a handful of four-figures score of late, including one from partypoker that weighed in at $4,826. Conroy has almost $520,000 in online tournament winnings thanks in part to 89 outright victories.
The other newcomer is Sven “SvenCalls” McDermott who debuts in 19th place in Ireland and who has climbed to an all-time high of 1,344th in the world. McDermott has been grinding hard at PokerStars and his high volume is starting to pay off with results that included a win in the $33 Saturday Speedway for $7,250 and a runner-up finish in the Big $33 for $2,134.
It is at the top of the rankings where you find Sean “monkeybudgie” Prendiville, who made out list of players to watch at the 2018 WSOP. Prendiville continued his impressive run of form with a runner-up finish in the PokerStars Hotter $162 for $6,645 and a deep run in a $215 SCOOP event, also at PokerStars, for an additional $6,080.
A shout out also to Ronan “sw33ney” Sweeney who locked up $13,340 for a third-place finish in the PokerStars $1,050 Thursday Thrill.
